MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT |
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is the oldest, starting from the inception of the institute (1984). Over the last three decades, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum and research. The department has one UG program (B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering) and one PG program (M. Tech in Thermal Engineering). The department also offers a PhD program. The department is devoted to quality teaching and outstanding research and development activities with its highly qualified faculty members. The department has shown significant contributions to research in domains like composite materials, solar energy, advanced machining, and manufacturing processes.
Today, the department offers well-equipped laboratories, a rich library, digital infrastructure, smart classrooms, and an ambiance conducive to effective learning.

About
The Mechanical Engineering Student Association (MESA) is a committee formed by the
students and for the students in JSGEC Jagdalpur, Mechanical Engineering Department. Built to
provide a platform for overall development of students in technical and non-technical fields
through events and activities organized at Institute as well as Department level.
MESA is among the most active student bodies in the institute. Every Mechanical Engineering
student beginning with the second year in the program at JSGEC is a member of MESA.
Mentored by experienced faculty members of the Mechanical Engineering department, students
take upon many initiatives that prepare them to face the challenges of the future. The department
newsletter also sees significant contributions from MESA.
